We Are Nubi designed the product and built the frontend for Mito, an NFT marketplace on Ethereum built from scratch, with no earlier version and no existing platform to migrate. The challenge wasn't just a pixel-perfect interface, it was making what happens on the blockchain show up fast and reliably in the product. We worked with two partners: Seele Studio on design and art direction, and Utsuri on the smart contracts and the on-chain data layer. It's one of Nubi's custom software development projects.

## The challenge: an entire product, with nothing to build on

There was no earlier version to fix and no platform to migrate: Mito started from zero. The challenge wasn't just turning the design into a pixel-perfect interface, it was solving something deeper: an NFT marketplace needs what happens on the blockchain to show up fast and reliably in the product, and Ethereum isn't built for that. Every mint, every sale, every state change lives on-chain, but querying it live for every user isn't viable.

## The solution: a fast interface on top of a blockchain that isn't

We built the marketplace's pixel-perfect frontend: the catalog, minting, listings, auctions and the purchase flow. The underlying problem was solved by the blockchain layer, handled by Utsuri: the Ethereum smart contracts and a listener that detects on-chain events as they happen and stores them in a database. Instead of the interface querying the blockchain on every action, the product reads from that database, always up to date and available. The result is a marketplace that feels fast and reliable, even though it's constantly talking to Ethereum underneath.

## The process

We worked side by side with two partners: Seele Studio led design and art direction, and Utsuri handled the blockchain layer (smart contracts, listener and on-chain data infrastructure), while we took on product design and the frontend.

## Result

3.5 months from kickoff to delivery. Mito ended up with a complete, working NFT marketplace, with an interface that feels fast even though every action involves talking to Ethereum.
